Fortune Tianjiao Residential Community Playground Project | Maoming, Guangdong, China

As humanity enters a new chapter in space exploration, the spirit of curiosity and discovery has become one of the defining themes of our time. Inspired by this spirit, a space-themed community playground has taken shape at the forefront of Guandu Park in Maoming, Guangdong, China.

Rather than simply grouping conventional fitness equipment together, the Space Station Playground is designed around three core principles: non-powered play, high interaction, and immersive theming.

From space spheres and orbital stations to spacecraft and lunar satellites, every play element is independently designed and safety-tested by Childhood Home. Through climbing, crawling, sliding, jumping, spinning, and balancing, children can stay active, build physical strength, and enjoy a dynamic play experience inspired by life beyond Earth.

The experience extends to the whole family. Seating areas, shaded facilities, and interactive star-lit ground surfaces provide comfortable spaces for parents to relax while supervising their children. Collaborative space-station challenges, spinning platforms, rocking equipment, and multi-user swings encourage children to communicate, cooperate, and share. The playground becomes more than a place for physical activity—it also serves as a social hub for the community.

A Five-Act Space Journey

The playground unfolds as a five-part experience, transforming everyday play into an imaginative journey through space:

1. Launch Base
Climb the rocket tower and experience the anticipation and excitement of a simulated launch.

2. Zero-Gravity Training Camp
Rotating rings, balance nets, and rope bridges challenge children to develop coordination, balance, and body control—just like astronauts preparing for a mission.

3. Space Station Adventure
Step aboard a space station and experience a playful environment inspired by life beyond Earth.

4. Deep-Space Walk
Multi-user swings and collaborative rotating equipment encourage children to work together, move freely, and enjoy the feeling of traveling beneath the stars.

5. Discovery Plaza
As children run across the interactive ground, their movements trigger glowing stars beneath their feet, turning physical activity into a rewarding moment of achievement.

More Than a Playground

By combining active play, imaginative storytelling, and social interaction, the project transforms an ordinary community space into a vibrant destination for children and families.

Here, children can build strength, develop coordination, learn to cooperate, and let their imagination reach beyond the everyday. From the neighborhood to the stars, the playground turns childhood curiosity into an experience of movement, connection, and possibility.
